Panty Schmooze 2005
The return of the Panty Schmooze for a third run generated over 1200 pairs of new underwear, 100 boxes of gently used clothing and household products, 6000 new t-shirts, 200 new umbrellas and 100 new coffee mugs from La Senza, 50 pair of new slippers from Totes Isotoner, a JVC 27″ Television and a Sony DVD Dream System donated by EMI Music Canada, cash donations from Universal Music Canada , the Orange Record Label, and Curve Music, 29 cases of bath and hair products from Schwarzkopf-Henkel, a case of baby products from Playtex, 20 movie passes from Famous Players Theatres, assorted CDs from Sony/BMG, Linus Entertainment and True North Records, a case of coffee from Van Houtte Coffee, assorted children’s toys from Tanglewood Entertainment, 2 all-day passports from Paramount Canada ‘s Wonderland, 4 cases of Doritos from Frito-Lay, assorted clothing from Northern Reflections, assorted make-up from Revlon, a new digital camera courtesy of EOE, 57 new educational books from Scholastic Canada, 100 back-packs from CCMA, 2 baby carriers and 3 back packs from Mountain Equipment Co-Op, 8 free magazine subscriptions from Rogers Media, 360 pair of new underwear from Phantom/Silks, discount coupons from Olly Shoes, 6 gently used computers from SOCAN, as well as raising over $3200 in cash.
All proceeds from the event were divided and graciously donated to two shelters; Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter and Nellie’s Shelter for Women. Also, due to the overwhelming response some items were sent to fourteen other shelters and outreach programs throughout the city.
Over $3000 worth of door prizes were also awarded to attendees. These prizes were donated by: Bell Mobility, Tails and Trails, Hot House Café, Alma Records, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Nettwerk Productions, Key to Health, Smoke & Mirrors Management, Pawsabilities Pet Care, Salon Tatiana, Warner Music Canada , YOU Salon & Spa, Yvonne Duivenvoorden Photography, Standard Radio (MIX 99.9), ice.com, Open Road Recordings, North by Northeast Music Conference, and the Condom Shack.
Contributions to the event were also made by CARAS, Flow 93.5 fm, A&R Lounge, FACTOR, Star Security, Newcastle Graphics, Nettwerk Productions, Canadian Music Week, RGK Entertainment, Trebas Institute, Paquin Entertainment, Poppies Florists, The Takeover Group, Canadian Music Network, Chapters/Indigo, 1050 CHUM, Chum 104.5fm, and Country 95.3fm.
The venue and food were generously donated by Indian Motorcycle Café and Lounge and all production equipment was donated by Harris Institute for the Arts and Long & McQuade with sound production provided by Livewire Remote Recorders.
The transportation requirements were handled expertly by Tippet-Richardson Ltd.
